Luxurious Living at Hargrave Drive, Hollywood Hills
Alpice Living is a high-end residential project that epitomizes luxury and innovation in the heart of Hollywood Hills. Located on Hargrave Drive, this project showcases the expertise of lighting designer Karl Jonsson, who has crafted an advanced lighting installation that perfectly complements the elegance of this prestigious area.
Innovative Lighting Design. Hargrave Drive features an innovative lighting installation that integrates high-quality light sources with advanced wireless lighting controls and Low Voltage Direct Current (LVDC) power distribution, known as X-PoE. This state-of-the-art LVDC/X-PoE infrastructure centers around a centralized power source for both indoor and outdoor lighting, offering several benefits including improved efficiency, reduced material usage, a lower carbon footprint, and the capability for complete off-grid operation.
Sustainable and Efficient. The LVDC/X-PoE system not only significantly lowers material use but also cuts embodied carbon by over 40%, extending the system’s lifespan to over 30 years, far exceeding the 5-7 year lifespan of traditional LED drivers. It achieves over 95% efficiency when coupled with solar panels for off-grid use.
Superior Lighting Elements. The lighting design includes bespoke DRD2 Down-lights from DMF Lighting, designed without internal power supplies to enhance their longevity, reduce heat output, and eliminate subtle white noise. The design also features LED tape lights from Visiolite, including the Visiolite Vibrance™ LED strip for vibrant, multi-color accent lighting beyond standard RGBW capabilities. All lighting elements boast a high color rendering index and R9 value, greatly reducing blue light to better support natural circadian rhythms.
Advanced Lighting Controls. For lighting controls, Casambi, based in Finland, was selected for its robustness and reliability, functioning independently of internet connections. Perfectly compatible with LVDC, Casambi’s system includes over 120 wireless endpoints like wall switches and lights, all controllable via wall switches, smartphones, or tablets.
Alpice Living on Hargrave Drive stands as a testament to the potential of combining advanced technology with sustainable practices, all while maintaining a high standard of luxury — setting a new benchmark for residential lighting design.
